Congratulations! Your first step in finding an educational major to match your career goals is taking the time to research careers. That way you become familiar with your educational expectations, job growth, and skills associated with your chosen occupation. If you are a Distance Education student at the Houston Community College, please contact the HCC Distance Education Student Services Office at 713.718.5275 (press 4) or de.counseling@hccs.edu. A counselor will be more than happy to create an individualized educational plan - also known as a "degree plan" - that matches your major with your career objective(s).

Before scheduling a conference with a counselor, review this checklist:

• Yes, I have submitted official transcripts from each of my previous educational institutions to HCC.
• Yes, I am a Distance Education student with the Houston Community College.
• Please contact the Distance Education counselor if you need to reschedule. Your appointment will be rescheduled if you are later than 15 minutes, unless you have notified the counselor.
