Videocassette Courses
Videotapes will be checked out to students for the semester.
Instead of attending regular classes on campus, videocassette
course students view three 30-minute programs each week on their television
sets at home, have assigned readings in textbooks and study guides, and
take exams administered on campus. Courses may also have written assignments.
For Videocassette courses, videotapes for the entire semester
will be checked out to students at the beginning of the semester. These
programs are not broadcast on Channel 8 or HCC-TV, and the tapes are not
at the libraries.
All distance education students, both new and returning, are required
to attend an orientation session for each course they
take. At the orientation session, the students meet
the instructor and receive course information, as well as information on precedures.
Some orientations will be available on-line
at the web site www.distance.hccs.edu
Review sessions are held by the instructor before each exam.
Attendance is optional.
The campus attended for orientations may be different from the
campus for review sessions and testing.
